Jamaican-American reggae artist Joseph Mersa-Marley died on Tuesday at the age of 31. The musician was found unresponsive in a vehicle in the United States on Tuesday, according to the streaming service TIDAL. The artist – who went by his stage name Jo Mersa – reportedly had suffered from asthma his entire life and the Florida radio station WZPP claimed he had died of an asthma attack, Daily Mail reports. He was the grandson of iconic reggae musician Bob Marley and the son of Stephen Marley. Bob tragically died of cancer in 1981 at the age of 36, but he is widely considered one of the pioneers of reggae music. The late star had 11 children with seven different partners. However, his colleagues have taken to social media to mourn his untimely demise.   Peteru Comedy only buried his father in November this year.  He is said to be the only son of a family of seven. Popular Zimbabwean socialite and Twitter user, Ayanda Muponda, has been convicted and sentenced to prison for selling sex toys. Muponda, who sold the adult toys on different social media platforms, was found guilty of breaking the Custom and Excise Act and exposing kids to pornography. An Mbare magistrate court sentenced her to 24 months in prison and 640 hours of unpaid labor. On the condition that she refrain from committing a similar crime within the next five years, the court suspended six months of the jail sentence. The remaining 16 months were suspended on the condition that she completes community service.

A 23-year-old female security guard, Gabriella Hutchinson, has lost her life following the injuries she sustained from the stampede at the music concert hosted by singer Asake in Brixton Academy, United Kingdom. Daily Mail reports that the victim, who was working as a contracted security provider at the concert, died on Monday at the hospital four days after the incident on Thursday night. Hutchinson became the second victim who lost her life in the incident, after 33-year-old Rebecca Ikumelo died on Saturday. The Metropolitan Police disclosed that a third woman, 21, who was still receiving treatment, was in critical condition. Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove, policing commander for Lambeth and Southwark, said, “It is devastating news that a second person has lost their life following the events on Thursday. “I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle’s family at this unimaginably difficult time.”

A high court sitting in Maitama, Abuja had finally approved the divorce of Anita Isama from Paul Okoye, the music star. The pair have been in the news since last year over rumoured crisis rocking their eight-year-old marriage. Anita and Okoye met in 2004 at the University of Abuja. In 2013, their son Andre was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. The couple later had a set of twins who were also delivered in Atlanta. Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake was forced to cancel his sold-out show at O2 Academy Brixton midway through after crowds of people, many of whom did not have tickets, attempted to gain access.   According to reports, ticketless fans tried to breach the venue doors, forcing the sold-out show to stop halfway through on Thursday night.     Four people were critically injured and four others were hospitalised following a crush at the concert venue in south London, police said Friday.     Police and other emergency services were called to the O2 Academy in Brixton at 21:35 pm (2135 GMT) following reports “that a large number of people were attempting to force entry to the venue.     “They arrived to find a number of people with injuries believed to have been caused by crushing.     “Detectives are investigating the circumstances which led to four people sustaining critical injuries,” the Metropolitan police said.     Two “less seriously injured” people were treated at the scene while the eigh
