Singer Davido to donate N300m to Nigeria orphanages

Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido publicly vows to contribute a large amount of money to orphanages across Nigeria. Sharing on the microblogging platform, X, the Afrobeats singer announced on February 20,2024, his pledge to finance children living in orphanage homes across the country. He also shared the pledge on his Instagram page. He stated it is an agreement between him and his foundation to fund the residential homes of orphans with the sum of three hundred million naira. Davido noted that the pledge is a yearly gift as his contribution to the nation. He tweeted; “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation .. details of disbursement tomorrow” He also added that the details of paying out the fund will be announced on February 21.

He shared the news on his Instagram stories, revealing that all his valuable items and studio equipment worth millions of naira were stolen. Portable stated that the group behind the attack had always intended to harm him, emphasizing the importance of being cautious. Nigerian Actress Ethel Ekpe-Aderemi dies

Veteran Nollywood actress, Ethel Aderemi, popularly known as Ethel Ekpe, has sadly passed away following a prolonged battle with cancer. The actress, who later transitioned into a preacher and motivational speaker, reportedly succumbed to cancer on Wednesday in Lagos. Dr. Shaibu Husseini, the Director-General of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), shared the news of her demise in a Facebook post on Wednesday night. “I have been reliably informed that Ethel Ekpe, the screen beauty that delighted fans with her inimitable interpretation of the role of Segi in the defunct sitcom on Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, by Ken Saro Wiwa titled ‘Basi and Company’ has passed on. “The actress and later day Pastor will be sorely missed. My family will particularly miss her because we named my second daughter Ethel, after her. Good night good woman,” he said.
