Ghanaian singer, Kwabena Kwabena has expressed regret about getting married early, stating that it deprived him of valuable years in his life. The 44-year-old singer who tied the knot in his twenties stated this in a recent interview with Zionfelix. Fast-rising singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, on Friday, lamented that organisers of the Tinubu inauguration concert offered him N5 million instead of N10m for his performance. Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has left Nigeria for Switzerland where he will be commencing a summer tour in Europe. This comes the same day he regained his freedom from the custody of the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State command following his arrest and detention for allegedly assaulting a policeman. It was learnt that Seun left Lagos for Zurich for a summer tour and that his fans there were already awaiting his arrival for a show on Thursday. It was earlier reported last weekend that Kuti was unable to attend his concert in Majorca Island, Spain, due to his detention by the police who were desperate to find incriminating evidence on him. A source said on Wednesday night that Kuti left for “Switzerland on Air France with his band members at 11 pm Nigerian time”. “Kuti has flown out to Switzerland tonight to commence his summer tour in Europe. American rapper, Fetty Wap has been sentenced to six years in prison for his role in a large-scale drug trafficking scheme that saw narcotics shipped from the West Coast and sold in New Jersey and Long Island.   The 31-year-old rapper, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, was sentenced in federal court in Central Islip, New York, for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.   Maxwell, who is from Paterson, New Jersey, was initially arrested in October 2021 on charges that he allegedly participated in a drug smuggling conspiracy involving heroin, fentanyl and other drugs.    He pleaded guilty in August to a top charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances pertaining to cocaine. The charge carried a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison.   The rapper, best known for his 2015 hit “Trap Queen,” apologized in the courtroom. “I hurt my community, people who look up to me, my family, and myself," he said. Embattled Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, arrived the Yaba Magistrate court this morning for the continuation of his trial over his assault on a police officer.    He arrived at the court in the company of his wife, Yetunde, older brother Femi Kuti and others. His lead counsel, Femi Falana is also in court.   The trial of the musician was adjourned to Wednesday, May 24, 2023 after the court failed to sit on the matter on Tuesday due to the absence of the judge.

British actor, Ray Stevenson, best known for starring roles in “Punisher: War Zone” and the “Rome” television show, has died at the age of 58.   Stevenson died on Sunday May 21, four days before his 59th birthday, his publicist confirmed in a statement. Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro has disclosed that he obtained a bank loan to finance his song with Mayorkun and Davido. Embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka aka Baba Ijesha, has lost his father, James Omiyinka, aged 95. Baba Ijesha's colleague, Yomi Fabiyi, announced this on his Instagram page late Saturday, May 13, 2023.. Sharing a photo of the deceased, Baba Ijesha wrote, "Accept my condolences BABA IJESHA on the death of your father. May the spirit of your father never depart you, he will fight for you someday. Baba lived a good life." Consoling his colleague, Fabiyi added, "We will continue to pray with you and hope someday the integrity of the judiciary will be restored in this matter. THE Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform. A statement released by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, says the IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly. ‘’IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book.” the statement read in part.

Popular Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi is dead. The actor was said to have died on Sunday, last week, May 7th in the home of one of his siblings. According to reports, the disagreement between his siblings is the reason why his death took almost a week to be made official. Saint Obi is aged 57 years. It was gathered that the actor, who he had seen a couple of times and recognized as Saint Obi, had died on Sunday and that the following day, his body was taken to the morgue at JUTH. This was after a visit to 13 Metropolitan Street in Tudun Wada, Jos where the sister lives. Saint Obi is said to have recently relocated to his sister’s home in Jos, the capital of the Plateau State, and has frequently been spotted being transported to the hospital. The fact that Mr. Obi was frequently spotted in the hospital was also confirmed by a source at JUTH.

Singer Falz has fired back at Governor Nasir El-Rufai's son, Bashir El-Rufai and others who criticized him for undergoing a knee surgery in UK instead of Nigeria.    Bashir and some supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress had accused Falz of hypocrisy for allegedly doing what he criticizes Nigerian leaders of doing.    Reacting to this, Falz said they are being audacious with stupidity, adding that they are so desperate for “ammunition” which is why they are latching on to his knee surgery gist.    The singer also retweeted a follower's tweet accusing Bashir's father and others of failing to build good hospitals that'll cater for the health needs of citizens.

According to him, he sustained an injury on his knee while playing football in November 2022. Nigerian singer and rapper, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has entered into the Guinness World Book of Records. The Benin-born music star achieved the feat with his global hit song 'Calm Down' which made history as the First No.1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart (the world's first regional streaming chart). Guinness World Record recognised the singer for achieving the historic feat in a statement on its website recently. According to the statement, Rema was being recognised for securing the first number 1 hit on the world's first regional streaming chart and first-ever official chart in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Rema's 'Calm Down' debuted at No. 1 when the MENA Chart was launched by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) on November 29, 2022. Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, has called out a fake Twitter page impersonating his wife, Chioma. Taking to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday, the 30BG boss revealed that his wife, Chioma, has no Twitter account. “Chioma has no Twitter 🙏🏾⏳❤️”, he tweeted. Talent manager Ubi Franklin also issued a disclaimer, warning social media users to disregard tweets from the fake page. He explained that the Twitter page has a similar username to Chioma’s Instagram page, but it is fake and only impersonating her. “This page is impersonating Chef Chi. Kindly disregard any tweet from this Twitter handle. Thank you.” he wrote.
